Our Purpose
The Oregon Urological Society was founded in 1960 to improve the lives of Oregonians regardless of race, color, religion, gender identity, and sexual orientation. We are comprised of urologic surgeons, advanced practice providers, and practice administrators throughout the state. Together we strive to enhance the delivery and quality of urologic care through partnership, education and advocacy for our patients and members.

Men's Health PodcastCheck out The Original Guide to Men’s Health. Hosted by Dr. Richard Pelman, the podcast published it’s first episode in 2019. It has more than 40 episodes and is now available on most major podcast platforms. Episodes consist of discussions with leading experts. They are designed to freely provide information on how to be a healthy male for a broad audience. Currently, a new episode is published once per month.

MedStaircase ScholarshipThe OUS was thrilled to have had the opportunity to sponsor OSU grad Stephen Machado to join the OHSU Department of Urology during a week long observership.
MedStaircase is a nonprofit organization committed to increasing diversity in healthcare, because patient outcomes are improved when their doctors look like they do. Through mentorship and scholarship, MedStaircase supports students along their journey to a career in medicine. In their inaugural summer of Clinical Experience Scholarships, MedStaircase was able to provide 17 undergraduate students of color with a subsidized internships. The OUS encourages participation in this wonderful organization.
